I say that because the first thing people will think when they see this piece is: that belongs in a museum. Or on a mantelpiece. Or in a collector's cabinet behind glass, lit from above, admired from a respectful distance.

This quartz cluster is cathedral-like — and I mean that precisely. The crystal points rise upward the way gothic architecture rises, reaching, transparent, catching light from every angle and throwing it back transformed. It is the kind of specimen that stops people mid-sentence when they see it on a shelf. Imagine what it does worn against a body, moving through the world.

I found it while rock hunting in some of my favourite stores — the particular kind of searching that is part knowledge, part instinct, and part simply being ready to recognise something extraordinary when it appears in front of you. This appeared. I knew immediately.

The cord is hand-woven by me in natural cotton macramé — mostly recycled cotton, worked into a wide, substantial braid that is itself a piece of craft. Making a cord like this is a genuine process. It is not an afterthought or a functional necessity. It is part of the work — the natural, earthy cream of the cotton creating a perfect counterpoint to the icy transparency of the quartz. Raw material meeting raw crystal. Both entirely themselves.

The hand-sculpted setting is finished with 24 carat gold leaf — just enough warmth to hold the crystal without competing with it.
